The story is told in a very conversational style, with constant flashbacks that are a bit troublesome to keep straight at first but as you slowly piece the story together, it's very effective and realistic. If another priest is found to have committed some inappropriate act or acts, and the Catholic Church, in its wisdom, moves them to diffuse the situation, (rather than turn them over to authorities, or oust them from the church) and calls in Father Duncan to mitigate the losses and manage the damage.
