होती है जो किसी पिंजड़ें में बंद पक्षी की होती है जिसे खाने-पीने की समस्त सामग्री उपलब्ध है पंरतु वह उड़ने के लिए स्वतंत्र नहीं है। हालाँकि मनुष्य की यह विडंबना है कि वह स्वंय अपने ही कृत्यों के कारण पराधीनता के दुश्चक्र में फँस जाता है।, पराधीनता के दर्द को भारत और भारतवासियों से अधिक कौन समझ सकता है जिन्हें सैकड़ों वर्षों तक अंग्रेजी सरकार के अधीन रहना पड़ा। स्वतंत्रता के महत्व को वह व्यक्ति हँसते-हँसते अपने प्राणों का बलिदान दे दिया।, पराधीनता के स्वरूप को यदि हम देखें तो हम पाएँगें कि पराधीन व्यक्ति के लिए स्वेच्छा अर्थहीन हो जाती है। उसके सभी कार्य दूसरों के द्वारा संचालित होते हैं। पराधीन मनुष्य एक समय अंतराल के बाद इन्हीं परिस्थितियों मंे जीने और रहने का आदी हो जाता है। उसकी अपनी भावनाएँ दब जाती हैं। वह संवेदनारहित हो जाता है। तत्पश्चात वह यंत्रवत् होकर काम करता रहता है। ऐसे व्यक्ति को मरा हुआ ही समझा जाता है क्योंकि संवेदनारहित व्यक्ति जिसकी स्वंय की इच्छा या भावनाएँ न हो तो उसका जीवन ही निरर्थक हो जाता है। ऐसे में कोई महापुरूष ही सामान्य जनों को जागृत कर सकते हैं। आम आदमी अपनी पारिवारिक चिंताओं से बाहर निकलने का साहस नहीं जुटा पाता है।, प्रसिद्ध फ्रांसीसी रूसों के अनुसार – मानव स्वतंत्र जन्मा है किंतु वह प्रत्येक जगह बंधनों से बँधा हैं। इस कथन पर यदि प्रकाश डालें तो हम पाते है कि मनुष्य प्रत्येक ओर से सांसारिक बंधनों में जकड़ा हुआ है परंतु कुछ बंधन उसने स्वीकार नहीं किए है। परिवार के प्रति उत्तरदायित्वों का निर्वाह, देश अथवा राष्ट्र के उत्थान के लिए प्रयत्न तथा आत्मविश्वास के लिए स्वंय को नियंत्रित करके चलना आदि को पराधीनता नहीं की सकते। इल कृत्यों सें उसकी संवेदनाएँ एवं उसकी स्वेच्छा सम्मिलित है। परंतु अपनी इच्छा के विरूद्ध विवश्तापूर्वक किया गया कार्य पराधीनता का ही एक रूप है। बाल मजदूरी, बँधुआ मजदूरी, धनी एवं प्रभुत्व संपन्न व्यक्तियों की चाटुकारिता पराधीनता के ही विभिन्न रूप कहे जा सकते हैं।, पराधीनता से स्वंय का अस्तित्व ही नहीं रह जाता हे। इसके दूरगामी परिणाम होते हैं। आज हमारा युवा वर्ग देश की संस्कृति को उपहास और उपेक्षा की दृष्टि से देखता है तथा पाश्चात्य संस्कृति में विलीन होना चाहता हैं। यह भी पराधीनता का ही एक रूप है। यह एक प्रकार की परतंत्रता की मानसिकता का ही उदाहरण है। अपनी निजता और अस्तित्व को भुलाकर दिखावे और बाह्य आंडबर को प्राथमिकता देना भी पराधीनता का ही एक रूप है। निःसंदेह पराधीनता व्यक्ति को ही नहीं अपितु पूरे समाज और राष्ट्र को पतन की ओर ले जाती है।, हमारे देश के लिए इससे अधिक दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बात और क्या हो सकती है कि हम सैंकड़ों वर्षों की परतंत्रता के बाद मिली आजादी के महत्व को भुला बैठे हैं। देश के सभी क्षेत्रों मे व्याप्त भ्रष्टाचार, लूटमार, कालाबाजारी, व्यभिचार, दुराचार, कमजोरों का उत्पीड़न आदि अनैतिकता को सहज रूप मंे अपनाकर हम स्वतंत्रता के महत्व को भुला रहे हैं। यह उन शहदों और अमर सेनानियों के बलिदान व कुर्बानियों का तिरस्कार ही होगा। अतः हम सभी देशवासियों के महत्व को समझें और प्रयास करें कि हमें पुनः पराधीनता का सामना न करना पड़े।, गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी ने ’रामचरितमानस’ में कहा है- ’’पराधीन सपनेहुँ सुख नाहीं’’ अर्थात् पराधीन व्यक्ति कभी सपने में सुख प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता। इसी प्रकार वियोगी हरि ने भी पराधीनता को सबसे अधिक दुःख वस्तु माना है-, अर्थात् पराधीन व्यक्ति के लिए सुुख और दुःख में कोई
